CARES, the cell concerned with environment, cares for everything which matters about nature. A lot has been written about it in previous pages, but as actions speak louder than words, here is a quick view of all the past events successfully organized by CARES, only to show that NLIU really CARES......


EVENTS HELD :


THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME, 2008-09:


NLIU CARES has been privileged that the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India has assigned it the task of implementation of the National Environment Awareness Programme, 2008-09. The Programme included spreading environmental awareness among communities, slums, villages and even in urban areas sensitizing them to minimize pollution and encourage them to use renewable technologies etc. through various means. The NEAP, 2008-09 included the following stages:
  • SLUM DRIVE 2008 - 09 - Considering the miserable environmental conditions of slums in Bhopal as major focus, CARES took the initiative to carry out a slum drive. The area in which the drive was conducted is one of the densely populated and poorly plant area of Bhopal. As a post to this drive sizable measures were taken to improve the conditions of the slum in question. This initiative was taken by CARES as a part of the National Environment Awareness Programme, 2008 (NEAP-2008)
  • SCHOOL CAMPAIGN 2008 - 09 - Taking up a zealous and enthusiastic approach towards environmental reforms, CARES conducted a school campaign wherein the school children were educated about the prevailing environmental conditions. This in a way helped in spreading the awareness among the energetic youth of the nation. This program had a great response and CARES was assured of the fact that there are many budding environmental activists in our society.
NATIONAL SEMINAR 2008 - 09- CARES organized a National Seminar on " 21st Century Challenges" in September 2008. It was a big event conducted by our cell. Interesting Panel discussions including ceative views of the participants on burning environmental issues were the highlights of this event.
                                                                            
AMBIANCE 2008-09 - One of the major successful events organized by CARES under the proficient guidance of Mr. Shantanoo Saxena, the then Convener of CARES was Ambiance 2008-09, which was NLIU's first ever Environment Event. It indeed created an ambiance of concern on the hot topic of "Climate Change".

ENVIRONMENT MEET 2009-10 - Another environmental activity in a form of environmental meet was conducted by CARES in 2009- 10 where by an Inter school Extempore competition was organized. Thanks to the active participation of all leading schools of Bhopal, the event was a huge success and through which the brainstorming sessions gave a glimpse of the concern of young generation for environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

AMBIANCE 2009 - 10 - After the amazing response of Ambiance 2008-2009, NLIU CARES organized Ambiance 2009 - 10. The major highlight of this event was " THE GREEN MOCK PARLIAMENT " held on April 3,2010 in which The Hazardous Waste (Management and Regulation) Bill, 2010 was the core issue. After several bright ideas being put forth by both the houses the bill was declared to have been passed.
